Emax Babyhawk 85mm Review

Indoor nano racers ramp up, with the adoption of brushless motors. As proof, this Babyhawk, which we have unveiled here. A motorized 8.5 cm diagonal machine that takes up the format of the Tiny Whoop, including propeller shields, but relies on 1104 to 5000KV brushless motors. They are powered by EPS 6A BLheli-S, for 2.3-inch propellers. The flight controller is an F3 which also acts as PDB and LC filter. The FPV part is provided by a camera combo - 25 mW video transmitter protected by a housing. Too bad the polarized antenna remains exposed to shocks: on such a machine, it is likely to suffer.

Resistance?

The structure is plastic, as are the protections of propellers. Will it be strong enough? We will only know by trying it. The battery to power the device is a Lipo 2S 7.4V 300 mAh. The data sheet indicates the weight accurately, once is not customary. The Babyhawk weighs 60 grams without radio receiver, battery and protections of propellers. The latter add 8 grams. The battery weighs an additional 18 grams, or 86 grams in total. What to take off? A small radio receiver ... The Babyhawk from Emax will be offered at less than 95 € at Banggood (with the port but without taxes).
