Mini Whoop, DIY !

There Tiny Whoop, now is the Mini Whoop! Envisioned by HicWic is a handset that cost less than a Tiny Whoop. On the principle of DIY, it shows the outline of his little brother with propellers protected by fairings to withstand without concern for small shocks and crashes, but with more powerful motors, brushed 8.5 mm. It is expected to be equipped with a flight controller Scisky or equivalent, with a location for a combo camera-transmitter support, as Quanum Elite or FX797T.

The frame was modeled for easy 3D printing - it takes about 2 hours on a standard printer. It was also thought to weigh a feather weight: 13 grams support for camera included! HicWic entrusted us have spent time frame put to the test shocks, by reinforcing where there were weak points. "The model is not indestructible," recognizes its creator - he is French - but "by its ease of printing, replacement is quick and easy."

You can download the frame to be printed on Thingiverse here. If you do not have a 3D printer, HicWic proposes to do it for you for 10 € (excluding shipping). It happens there. For installation instructions, a tutorial can be found here (in English). All outside radio receiver and display device FPV (goggles, mask or screen) is less than 100 €. With some elbow grease, of course. The model is not fixed, the developer is open to suggestions for improvements, variations and evolutions!

Hubsan X4 H107C version HD test

This is one of the most successful mini quadricopters which are: the Hubsan H107C is a success, despite its integrated camera whose only interest ... to exist. For its resolution 0.3 megapixel provides videos of 720 x 480 pixels. Both say poor image and a little fuzzy. The company offers a new version of the HD denominated unit. What changes? Two things, and only two: the resolution of the camera built into the device and its price ... (but not much)!

Yes, the new X4 is exactly the same as its predecessor: the same structure, same mother board, same engines, propellers same. Even as radio, same battery, same charger. And even protection of propellers - supplied in the box! Logically, taking hands, holding in flight, acrobatics and autonomy are exactly the same as the normal X4 107C. If you are not familiar with this device, there is still time to catch up things: the test is to read here.

This is the new X4 H107C: its built-in camera is a 2 megapixel now explain the specifications, with a resolution of 720p. Only here: 1280 x 720 pixels, the resolution of videos filmed by the camera, it gives 921,600 pixels. So 0.9 or 1 megapixel, not 2. It does not matter, really, because the important thing is not the resolution but the image quality. Outdoors with the sun or at least a good light, the image appears very satisfactory. When the weather is overcast, the camera only slightly with dark areas and tends to favor colors that tend toward blue. But the image is correct. With low light, indoors for example, the image degrades quickly. It shows the blue strips and the number of frames per second decreases, accompanied by a speed blur. But overall, the picture appears rather pleasant. Best to make you an idea, is to watch the video below.

Yes, without hesitation. The X4 was a safe bet, H107C this model benefits from improved engines which offer a nice power than the X4 V2 model. It is very nice to drive, both indoors and outdoors. In the absence of wind, the images are remarkably stable. Obviously, whenever there is a little air or you take the altitude, the images are shaky. But nothing insurmountable: filming from the air with this HD X4 is a treat. Do not expect to get as much as successful sequences with a GoPro camera, or even a Mobius. But they are just extras in view of the small size of this machine, you can take anywhere with you. If you have to choose between the classic X4 H107C and the HD version, choose it to take advantage of much higher quality videos!

Additionally, if you need to purchase some rc drone gadgets, you also can search via Banggood, which provides affordable prices. Such as, dominator fatshark, fatshark dominator goggles, fpv accessories, etc.

The camera on board is a 700TVL associated with a transmitter 5.8GHz 200mW (remember that the maximum power in France is 25 mW) and 48 channels.
